For 10 years, Oyas® has been developing a different way of watering plants, based on a simple and time-honoured craft: pottery.

We handcraft our Oyas® in Belgium, in our own production workshop. Our expertise is built on a dual knowledge: plants and clay. Oyas® was born from our passion for these two worlds.

Today, we offer a range of watering pots designed for plant lovers, as well as for professionals looking to offer their customers a product that is useful, beautiful, natural and has a genuine story behind it.

What is an Oyas®?

An Oyas® is a microporous clay pot that is filled with water and buried in the soil, close to the roots of plants.

Thanks to the natural porosity of the clay, water gradually passes through the walls of the pot and into the surrounding soil. The soil therefore remains moist close to the roots, while the plant draws up the water it needs.

An Oyas® therefore delivers water directly to the root zone, gradually and autonomously.

The principle is remarkably simple: fill the Oyas®, place it in the soil and let the clay do the rest.

Oyas® can be used for indoor plants as well as for plants in the garden and vegetable garden.

Unique expertise in plants and clay

Creating a high-performing Oyas® involves much more than simply shaping a pot.

The effectiveness of an Oyas® depends in particular on the type of clay, how it is prepared, shaped and fired. These different elements determine the properties of the pottery and its ability to gradually release water into the soil.

For 10 years, we have been refining these parameters and developing our expertise around this technique.

But our knowledge does not stop at clay.

We also study plants, their water requirements, the development of their roots and the different environments in which they grow.

It is precisely at the intersection of these two areas of expertise that the Oyas® know-how lies.

Made in Belgium, in our own workshop

We have chosen to manage our production ourselves, rather than relying on a subcontractor.

Our Oyas® are handmade in Belgium, in our own production workshop.

This choice is essential to us. It allows us to stay close to our products, control our manufacturing process, continuously improve our methods and ensure consistent quality.

It also means that we truly know what we sell.

This control over the entire process is at the heart of who we are.
