Landscapes or still-lifes, Sietse presents his themes in an recognizable and quirky way. As a self-taught artist Sietse was able to focus full-time on his artist life since the year of 1985. His typically Dutch work finds its way across many borders, from Asia to Middle East and North America. Since 1982 Sietse lives and works in Oudkarspel in North Holland. His studio/gallery can be visited by appointment.

Collection Charley Toorop Beemster, Bloeiende boom
This painting by Charley Toorop (1891–1955) is one of the highlights of the Museum MORE collection. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh, Toorop painted fruit trees every year. In spring, she often captured the splendor of blossoms. In the midst of World War II, in 1943, she painted this powerful blooming tree, bursting with spring. Because Toorop refused to join the Kultuurkamer, she was no longer allowed to sell or exhibit her work. That is likely the reason she wrote the year 1940 on the back of this painting.
